A Storm Is Coming...

Description

This short film was created as a cut-scene of a major event in a D&D style RPG game that me and a buddy were writing. Sadly the game was never finished, although all the work in progress still exists.

SYNOPSIS
An ancient artifact, known only as the "Celestial Body" is entering our space from another dimension. Upon its "birth" into our space it has trapped several ships in its gravitational well. A research station deployed to survey the prior spatial anomaly finds itself in a hopeless situation. A lone pilot manages to escape the powerful gravitational eddies, using their ingenuity and 6th sense-like ability to "feel" the very fabric of space. He is supposed to tell the tale, and deliver the unsettling news, thus the campaign starts.

NOTES
Bear in mind that this video is VERY old - I finished it little more than 10 years ago, and it's been migrating from harddrive to harddrive. Admittedly it looks somewhat dated these days, but I did my best with the skill level and the tools that were available to me at that time. I fully stand by this work, and ask that it be judged accordingly.

CREDITS
Aside from credited items below, I created everything you see in this film, and edited and cut it myself. I also composed, and arranged the music score.

Since this video was never meant for commercial use, or even for public display outside our RPG group, I was never worried about using other artists' work for textures. Now, more than 10 years later however, the issue comes into play.

For the Celestial Body texture, I used elements from a painting by H.R. Giger. Also, the protagonist's freight ship largely consist of elements I did not model, but found on a free 3D model downloads site. I do not remember where I got it, or the 3D-artist's name, but if anybody here recognizes it as their work, please let me know and I will give proper credit.
